Pink Leather Jacket

Pink leather (and pleather!) jackets are the sartorial staple this Spring. You may have seen  Esteé of Essie Button rocking her pink leather number from Topshop or Audrey of Frassy debuting Reiss' offering on the streets of Paris. If you're a long time reader of my blog, then you may remember that I got my hands on a pink pleather jacket for the insanely cheap price of £18.50 from Forever 21 this time last year. Initially I was a little shy to wear it out as it's quite a bold piece but something that I always receive compliments when worn. It's a versatile and fun piece of outerwear that can be worn with a tee and pair of jeans or over a dress. I can't help but feel a little smug that I was accidentally ahead of the curve for once!

Those wishing to give this girly trend a try, there are quite a few varieties of shades and styles to choose from. I've managed to source a selection to suit every budget and have listed them from the cheapest to the most expensive. Unsurprisingly at £30, the Boohoo studded PU jacket only has size 14s left in stock. Similarly Forever 21 has sold out in sizes smaller than an M but if you're petite, the M or L could work as an oversized option. River Island is spoiling us with 3 versions of the pink leather jacket starting with their cheapest offering at £55 in a bold bubblegum hue. Zara's first option comes in the form of a sturdier looking pastel number whilst their pricier alternative offers a more feminine cut and detailing.

As you would expect, the real leather jackets are going to set you back a bit more but with the indecisive UK weather, it could become a worthy investment as the hardest working item in your wardrobe. I like to layer with a cardigan underneath and a scarf in the evenings. ASOS currently stocks 2 River Island jackets - the first is basically the real leather version of the £55 jacket and the second is a more subdued pastel hue. The final jacket is the aforementioned Reiss number - a serious luxury piece at £450 but if you've got the cash to splash, then why not?

Will you be donning a pink leather jacket this season? Which one is your favourite?
